Top News of the Week – Commerce Secretary Raimondo seeks to expand Export Control Office
For the first time last weekend, a U.S. Commerce Secretary headlined the Reagan National Defense Forum. Secretary Raimondo stressed to the audience the central role that the Commerce Department plays in economic security which serves as the foundation of national security.
Secretary Raimondo appealed to Members of Congress in the audience to resource her Department with the personnel and the tools, so that she can carry out the critical tasks of denying advanced technology to the PRC and Russia, develop regulations for artificial intelligence, and help the U.S. semiconductor industry become world leaders again.
