Top News of the Week - OpenAI’s Roadmap for an AI Future
OpenAI has put forward a plan to revitalize infrastructure, energy, and economic prosperity. The company calls for an “economic bloc” to compete with China.
Key Points:
According to the blueprint, “[AI] presents a national security imperative to protect our nation and our allies against a surging China by offering an AI shaped by democratic values, promoting individual choice and benefiting the most people possible.”
The rapid approval of new and expanded data centers will be key for companies like OpenAI to accelerate their offerings.
OpenAI envisions a North American AI alliance that could eventually expand to a global network, such as a “Gulf Cooperation Council with the UAE and others in that region.”
U.S. Navy, which operates around 100 nuclear small modular reactors (SMRs), could play a major role in building more civilian SMRs.
Chris Lehane, OpenAI’s head of global policy, said the Midwest and Southwest could see increased AI investment.
